Why phones slow down when they get hot

Every phone reduces its clock speed to protect the battery once it passes a thermal limit. That is the stutter you feel twenty minutes into a game or a long video call.

Peltier plate, not a desk fan

A semiconductor cooling element actively moves heat off the back glass instead of blowing warm air across it. The plate goes genuinely cold to the touch.

Fits with a case on

The spring clamp opens to 90 mm and the contact plate is raised, so a normal case is not a problem.
