Everything we sell begins with the sheet. This page is the short version of what happens between the paper mill and your desk.
Choosing the stock
We work with two papers: a smooth 100 gsm cream for everyday notebooks and a 120 gsm cotton rag for letters. Both are acid-free — the writing you do this year will still be crisp when someone finds the notebook in fifty.
Sewing the spine
Pages are folded into sections and sewn through the fold with waxed thread, the way books were bound before speed mattered more than opening flat. A sewn book can be rebound; a glued one can only be mourned.
Testing with real ink
Every paper batch is tested with wet fountain pen ink, brush pen and pencil on both sides. We check for ghosting, feathering and dry time before a single sheet is bound. Batches that fail become packing paper.
Finishing quietly
No foil logos, no printed slogans. A blind emboss on the back cover is the only mark we leave — the front is yours.
