Description
The Aurora is the board we shape most, because it is the board most people actually need. The outline is drawn narrow through the nose and full through the front foot, so it paddles into weak beach-break sections without feeling like a stiff, straight rocket underfoot.
Glassing is 4 + 4 ounce deck and 4 ounce bottom over a 1lb PU blank, with a basalt tail patch on the deck where heels do the damage. It is a little heavier than a contest board and it lasts about three times as long.
Who it suits
Intermediate to advanced surfers riding waist-to-overhead beach and reef. If you are still catching more than half your waves on the whitewater, take the Highwater instead.
