A folding lock is the sensible compromise between a heavy chain and an awkward D-lock. The Bastion folds down to roughly the size of a bidon and mounts in the bottle cage bosses, so it travels on the bicycle rather than on you.
Genuinely hard to defeat
Six 5mm hardened steel plates, riveted rather than bolted, with a cylinder that resists picking and drilling. Extended it reaches 90cm — enough to take in a frame, a wheel and a solid stand.
Kind to paint
Every plate is sheathed in a soft polymer skin, so it will not chew the finish off a frame it is wrapped around.
