Technical notes
Product detail
Fans for classified areas are not a variant of a standard fan with a different motor. The material pairing at every point where a rub could occur, the running clearance, the earthing path and the bearing arrangement all change together, and the equipment category required is set by your own area classification, not by us.
What we build
The EX-560 is built with an aluminium impeller running inside a steel case fitted with a non-ferrous rub ring, giving a material pairing that is not recognised as an ignition source in the standard combinations. Running clearances are increased over the standard fan, shaft and casing are bonded to a single earth stud, and the motor is supplied as a certified item from the motor manufacturer.
Certification
ATEX is a category of equipment for use in explosive atmospheres, defined by the applicable European directives. Placing a fan on that market requires assessment against those directives, and the documentation belongs to the assessed configuration, not to the model name. [Client to confirm which certificates, notified body assessments and equipment category markings are held for this configuration before any of them are stated on this page.]
What we need from you
Send the zone classification, the gas or dust group, the temperature class required and the maximum surface temperature permitted. Without those four, any fan offered is a guess.
Inspection
Clearances are recorded at build and should be re-measured at each scheduled inspection. A fan that was compliant on the day it shipped is not compliant after a bearing has worn.
