Every product in the catalogue passes through the Ride Lab – our name for a workshop, a weather log and a crew of daily commuters who refuse to carry bad gear. This is what happens there.
A season on the bike, minimum
Every candidate product rides with the crew through at least one full season – summer glare, autumn rain, the first icy week of winter. Lights are judged at 6 am in fog, locks at crowded racks, fenders on the worst lane in town. Gear that only works in good weather does not get listed.
Torn down before signed off
We open every light, pump and tool on the bench: seals inspected, boards checked for conformal coating, pivots and springs cycled a thousand times on a rig. If a part wears, we ask the maker for spares availability – no spares, no listing.
Measured, not marketed
Lumen claims meet a light meter, capacity claims meet a measuring jug, weight claims meet a calibrated scale. Product pages carry our measured numbers, and when they differ from the box, ours win.
Feedback loops back
Warranty returns land on the same bench and every failure is logged by cause. Twice a year the log decides what stays in the catalogue – and what we quietly retire. It keeps the shelf honest.
