A saddle bag should hold exactly what you need to fix a puncture and nothing else. The Harrow is cut to that brief: four litres, a flat base so tools sit still, and a roll of waxed cotton that keeps the road spray out.
Ages rather than wears
The waxed cotton takes on a soft, mottled finish after a season of rain. The bridle leather straps darken. Neither is a defect — it is the point.
Fits without rattling
Two leather straps loop the saddle rails and a third stabilises against the seatpost, so the bag stays silent over rough surfaces.
