The OE-90 is the pair we hand someone who has a room they can shut the door on. It is open at the back, which means the driver works against the room rather than a sealed cup, and it means everyone else in the room hears what you are hearing. That is the trade you are making.
What drives it
At 300 ohms nominal and 97 dB per milliwatt, this is not a headphone to run from a laptop socket. It will make sound, but it will run out of headroom before it runs out of volume. Pair it with the DA-1 or any amplifier that can supply a few hundred milliwatts into 300 ohms.
Fit and weight
330 g without the cable, with a self-adjusting headband and 22 mm deep velour pads. Clamp is deliberately light. If you want isolation on a train, this is the wrong headphone and the TW-20 is the right one.
Parts you can replace
The pads lift off without tools and the cable is a detachable 3.5 mm mono jack at each cup, so a damaged cable is a cable, not a headphone. We stock both for this model.
