VB-150F

VB-150F Floating Ball Valve

A two-piece floating ball valve for utility and instrument isolation up to DN150, with a blowout proof stem and a locking lever.

  • Blowout proof stem retained from inside the body
  • Live loaded packing takes up wear without regular gland adjustment
  • Lever locks in both the open and closed position for isolation work
  • Available full bore or reduced bore on the same face-to-face

Product detail

Below DN150 a floating ball is the simpler answer. The ball is held only by the two seats, and line pressure pushes it against the downstream seat to make the seal. Fewer parts, lower cost, and nothing to go wrong as long as the valve is not asked to modulate.

Where it fits

Utility water, instrument air, sampling points, pump isolation and drain lines. It is a shut-off valve, not a throttling valve: parking the ball half open erodes a groove across the seat and the valve will not seal again.

Construction

Two-piece body with a threaded or bolted joint, full or reduced bore. The stem enters from inside the body and is retained by a shoulder, so it cannot be blown out if the packing nut is removed under pressure. The lever accepts a padlock in both positions for lock-out work.

Seats and packing

Reinforced PTFE seats as standard, with a live loaded stem packing that takes up wear rather than needing the gland retightened after every thermal cycle. Antistatic contact between ball, stem and body is fitted on all sizes.
