Most sofas hide a stapled softwood carcass under the upholstery, which is why most sofas are thrown away rather than repaired. The Brackenmoor turns its frame outward: white oak arms and rails joined with mortise and tenon, visible and oiled. The deck is jute webbing stretched over the rails, not a sprung metal unit, so it can be re-tensioned in an afternoon. Cushions are feather-wrapped foam in washed oatmeal linen with concealed zips throughout. Allow 400 mm between the front rail and a coffee table.
