The Rill leans at 8 degrees and stays there because the shelves get shallower as they rise, keeping the centre of mass behind the contact line even fully loaded. Each shelf is housed into the angled side rails and glued across its full width — these are narrow enough that seasonal movement is negligible. Two vegetable-tanned leather pads at the top protect plaster and stop it sliding. If you have small children, the supplied pair of concealed wall straps takes ten minutes to fit.
