Five Recovery Habits for Heavy Training Weeks

Five Recovery Habits for Heavy Training Weeks

Heavy blocks are won between sessions. None of these habits takes more than ten minutes, and together they decide whether week three feels strong or broken.

1. Walk after your last set

Ten unhurried minutes of walking clears more session fatigue than any gadget. It costs nothing and doubles as a mental cool-down.

2. Roll before, not only after

A firm roller used briefly before training prepares tissue better than a long painful session afterwards. Slow passes, no grimacing.

3. Band work on off days

Light banded rows, pull-aparts and hip work keep blood moving through sore areas without adding load. Two sets, easy effort.

4. Protect the sleep window

The heaviest training weeks deserve the most boring evenings. A consistent lights-out time beats every supplement on the shelf.

5. Deload before you must

Planned easy weeks feel wasteful right up until the unplanned ones arrive. Schedule the deload; your joints already have.
