Field tested first
Tents get pitched in crosswinds, chairs get sat in around long fires, stoves cook real dinners for real groups. Gear that only looks good on a studio shelf does not make the catalogue.
Canvas, wood and steel
We favour materials that age instead of expiring: waxed canvas that re-proofs with a tin and a cloth, hardwood that oils back to new, steel that takes a file. Wherever a part can be stitched, bolted or spliced instead of glued, it is.
The pack-down test
Everything must pack down honestly – flat, small and quiet in the boot. If a product rattles, sprawls or needs three people to fold, it goes back to the bench.
Repair before replace
We stock spare tent poles, chair slings, kettle lids, carrier taps and pack buckles, so a broken part is a small parcel rather than a new purchase. Gear that cannot be repaired does not get shelf space.
