Most robes are made from terry towelling, which is a strange choice for a garment you put on wet and then hang on the back of a door. Terry holds a lot of water and dries slowly, and a door is the worst-ventilated place in a bathroom. This robe is waffle for exactly that reason.
What waffle does differently
Waffle is a flat honeycomb weave rather than a looped pile. It holds noticeably less water than terry, which makes it feel less plush in the first minute and much more pleasant an hour later. On an ordinary hook it is dry in about three to four hours rather than most of a day.
Fit
Cut unisex and generous, falling to mid-calf on someone around 170 cm. Sleeves are full length with a turn-back cuff, there are two patch pockets, and it closes with a self belt through side loops. It is not sized to the centimetre, so if you are between sizes take the smaller one, waffle relaxes.
Care
Wash it warm and separately for the first two cycles: waffle cotton sheds more in its first wash than terry does. Tumble low or hang it on a wide hanger so the shoulders keep their shape.
