Brimline Hat Co. began as a repair counter. People brought us brims that had been sat on, crowns that had lost their line, straw that had spent a winter in a damp garage – and we steamed, blocked and banded them back to life. After enough years of fixing other makers’ shortcuts, we started blocking our own hats the way repairs taught us they should be made. This shop is the result.
What we make
Baseball caps and dad caps, rib-knit beanies, wool felt wide brims and ranchers, paper straw braid sun hats and boaters, bucket hats, berets and tweed flat caps, small hats for small heads, and the brushes, stands and boxes that keep all of it handsome. Felt crowns are blocked by hand over beech forms; bands are grosgrain ribbon, stitched flat, never glued.
How we work
- Blocked, not stamped: every felt and straw crown is shaped with steam over a wooden block and rested overnight before it is trimmed.
- Checked, not sampled: brim sweep, band stitching, sweatband seams and sizing are checked on every single hat, not one per batch.
- Kept in shape for life: our mail-in reshape service re-blocks anything we sell at cost, forever – a hat shop should stand behind crowns, not just sales.
