Felt does not really get dirty; it gets dusty, and dust dulls the nap long before anything stains it. Thirty seconds with this brush after each wear – always with the grain, counter-clockwise around the crown – lifts the dust and lays the nap back down glossy.
The bristles are soft enough for pale felts and firm enough to matter, set into an oiled beech handle shaped to sweep a brim in two passes. It is the cheapest thing in the shop and the one we most insist on: every felt hat we sell ships with a card telling you to come back for it.
