BlueWave Marine Hardware started in 2004 in a small two-bay workshop beside a busy sailing harbour, repairing winches that the original manufacturers no longer supported. Repairing other people hardware for the first six years turned out to be the best possible education: we saw exactly which parts failed, where, and why, long before we designed anything of our own.
What we build
Today the catalogue covers five families – winches, shackles and connectors, rigging screws and terminals, blocks and travellers, and deck fittings – across roughly four hundred active products. Everything rated is forged or machined from marine-grade stainless steel, quality checked before dispatch, and traceable back to a mill certificate.
Who we supply
- Production yards building between ten and four hundred hulls a year, on scheduled call-off against a forecast.
- Refit and service yards that need a product matched to something fitted twenty years ago.
- Rigging distributors and chandleries holding stock under their own label or ours.
- Race programmes needing weight-optimised variants of catalogue parts, usually in a hurry.
How we work
Three things have not changed since the workshop days. We publish how our load figures were derived rather than just the figures. We keep spare parts available for at least fifteen years after a product is discontinued, because a fitting on a boat outlives the catalogue it came from. And an engineer, not a sales assistant, answers technical questions – which is why quotations sometimes take a working day rather than an hour.
