38 cm long and 24 cm across, with a well about 2 cm deep. Long enough for a whole roast chicken or a row of grilled vegetables, and narrow enough to lie flat on the bottom rack of a standard dishwasher. That second measurement is the one nobody publishes and everybody discovers later.
The well
The floor is slightly dished so resting juices collect at the centre rather than running to the edge and onto the table. The rim is 1.5 cm wide, which is enough to get a cloth-covered hand on each end when it is loaded.
Oven use
Oven safe to 220 °C, starting from a cold oven. Put the platter in cold and let it come up to temperature with the oven. Do not slide a cold platter onto a hot shelf, and do not set a hot platter down on a wet worktop. Reactive glaze over a vitrified body takes heat well and takes sudden change badly.
Weight
About 1.6 kg empty. The weight is deliberate. A light platter slides across a table while you carve on it.
