600 ml, which is two large cups or three small ones. The strainer is a set of holes pierced through the wall at the base of the spout rather than a removable basket, so there is nothing to lose, nothing to clean separately, and the leaf gets the whole body of the pot to open in.

The lid and the spout

The lid sits in a gallery and has a lug that catches when the pot passes about 45 degrees, so it stays put through a full pour instead of being held with a thumb. The spout is cut at a steep angle and the underside is finished to a sharp edge, which is the detail that decides whether a teapot runs down its own side.

Heat

Warm the pot with a little hot water before brewing. It holds the brewing temperature better, and it is gentler on the glaze than filling a cold pot straight from a kettle at full boil.

Washing

Dishwasher safe. Tannin will build up inside over months. It is cosmetic, and bicarbonate of soda in hot water lifts it without scouring the glaze.
