350 ml at a comfortable fill and 400 ml to the rim. The body is wider than it is tall, which cools coffee slightly faster than a narrow mug and makes it easy to get a whole hand around on a cold morning. The handle takes three fingers.
Pulled and attached by hand, then blended into the wall. The join is the part of a mug that fails, so it is thicker than it looks and sits lower on the body than a moulded handle would, which puts the weight of a full mug closer to your wrist.
Reactive glaze, glossy inside and satin outside. A vitrified glaze will not stain from coffee or tea. The unglazed foot ring can pick up a ring of colour over months of standing in a wet spot, and it scrubs off with bicarbonate of soda.
About 380 g empty. Mugs are not designed to stack, and stacking them is how handles get chipped. Height is 8.5 cm, so they clear a 22 cm cabinet shelf with room to lift one out.
Dishwasher and microwave safe. In winter, do not pour boiling water straight into a mug that has been sitting in a cold cupboard. Give it a splash of warm water first. Thermal shock cracks mugs; use does not.
