A nearfield monitor is a speaker designed to be listened to from about a metre away, where you hear far more of the speaker than of the room. The NF-5 is built for the two corners of a desk and nothing larger.
Sold as a single
Price and stock here are for one cabinet. Stereo needs two. We sell them singly because a damaged monitor should be replaceable without buying another pair, not to make the price look smaller.
Placement
The port is on the rear, so the cabinet needs room behind it, under about 20 cm from a wall it will sound noticeably heavier in the bass. A rear switch trims the low shelf by -2 dB or -4 dB for exactly that situation.
Connections
Balanced XLR and balanced 6.35 mm TRS on the back, plus unbalanced RCA. There is no Bluetooth and no wireless link between the two cabinets; each one takes its own signal cable and its own mains lead.
