Product detail

The PC-D110 is the size most single-building standby installations settle on: enough capacity for lighting, small power, a lift and one fire pump, without the cooling and exhaust load of a larger frame. It is supplied open, on a bunded baseframe, for installation inside a plant room or an acoustic switch house that has already been built.

Rating basis

Ratings follow the ISO 8528 definitions. The standby rating (ESP) is a variable load with no overload capability, intended for use when the mains supply fails. The prime rating (PRP) is a variable load for unlimited hours with a permitted overload. Both figures on this page are quoted at 25 degrees C and 100 m altitude; above that, derating applies and we calculate it against the actual site conditions before confirming a rating.

Engine and cooling

A four-cylinder turbocharged engine driving through a direct-coupled single-bearing alternator. The radiator is sized for 50 degrees C ambient with the standard fan, and the set is supplied with a flexible exhaust bellows and a residential-grade silencer as standard. Exhaust back pressure limits are stated on the drawing so the installing contractor can size the run.

Control

The standard panel is a mains-failure controller with three start attempts, engine protection shutdowns, and volt-free contacts for a building management system. Remote monitoring over Modbus is available on the same panel.
