Type A, or nothing
Jadeite is graded by what has been done to it, not by how green it looks. The trade uses three letters.
Type A — untreated
Cut, ground and polished. Nothing else. No acid bath, no polymer impregnation, no dye. Colour and structure are the stone’s own, and they will not change with time, heat or sunlight. Everything we sell is Type A.
Type B — bleached and impregnated
Low-grade stone soaked in acid to strip brown iron staining, then filled with polymer resin to restore transparency. It looks convincing for a few years. The resin yellows, crazes and eventually breaks down.
Type C — dyed
Colour added. Often combined with Type B treatment, in which case the trade calls it B+C. Dye concentrates in the fissures, which is where a loupe usually finds it first.
The report
Every piece ships with an independent laboratory report identifying the material and stating whether any treatment was detected. The report number is printed on the card in the box and recorded on the product page, and the issuing laboratory lets you verify it by number on their own site.
A report is not an appraisal. It says what the stone is, not what it is worth.
