Product detail

Longspan is what goes under a mezzanine, along a pick face and down a parts store. It is loaded by hand, so the working figure is the shelf level capacity and how far someone has to reach, not a pallet weight.

Shelf level, not bay total

Each level carries a uniformly distributed load. A carton stacked in one corner of the shelf is not uniformly distributed, and that is where a deck bows. Where the stock is heavy and concentrated, we drop the bay width rather than raise the shelf rating, because a shorter span solves it more cheaply than a thicker beam.

Decks

Chipboard decks sit inside the beam profile and are cut per bay. Steel panel decks clip in and can be lifted out for cleaning, which is the choice for food handling and for anywhere that gets washed down. Open steel decks are used where sprinkler water has to pass through the levels.

Sharing a section series

The uprights use the same perforation pitch as the pallet racking, so a run of shelving can end against a racking frame without a transition part and levels line up across both. That matters when a mezzanine deck edge, a pick face and a pallet run all meet in the same aisle.

Adding levels later

Levels move on a 50 mm pitch with a rubber mallet. Bays are supplied as a starter plus add-on runs sharing one upright, so extending along a wall costs one frame per bay rather than two.
