On the bar first
New gear goes straight into daily service – morning rush conditions, back-to-back brews, impatient hands. Equipment that only performs when babied does not make the catalogue.
Measured, not admired
Kettles hold a target temperature against a thermometer, grinders get their particle spread checked at five settings, scales answer to calibration weights. If the numbers drift, the sample goes back.
The clumsy test
We drop things. Cups meet tile floors, drippers roll off counters, scales take a splash of hot water. Products that fail gracefully – and repair cheaply – beat products that fail expensively.
Repair before replace
We stock spare beakers, plunger screens, burr sets, gaskets and lids so a broken part is a small parcel, not a new purchase. Gear that cannot be repaired does not get shelf space.
