About Quietform

Where we came from

Quietform started as a small two-person workshop building bass traps for local studios who were tired of buying foam that looked the part but changed nothing. The workshop grew because the results kept holding up, not because of the marketing.

Today we are a team of acoustic designers, cabinetmakers, upholsterers and installers, and our products have gone into projects in many countries. The design desk and the machine shop are in the same building, which is the single biggest reason our lead times are what they are.

How we build

Everything framed is solid hardwood, machined and finished in-house. Facings are woven from recycled fibre felt chosen for how it performs, not just how it looks. Hardware is solid metal because it ages honestly and does not chip.

We publish honest performance information for every product in the catalogue. If one of our figures looks modest next to a competitor’s, it is usually because we measured under realistic conditions and they did not.

What we believe about rooms

• Understand the room first. Every plan we produce starts from the actual space, not a photograph.
• Bass decides how a room feels. Everything else is easier.
• Dead is not the same as good. A room with no life in it is exhausting to be in.
• Balance between the left and right of a room matters more than people expect.
• If the honest answer is that you need building work rather than panels, we will say so and lose the sale.

Sustainability

Our hardwood comes from certified responsible sources. Felt facings are made from recycled fibre, and our offcuts go back into production rather than into a skip. Packaging is cardboard and paper tape — no foam packaging anywhere in the supply chain.

Visiting

The workshop is open to clients by appointment. There is a fully treated demonstration room on site, and hearing it is far more useful than any brochure.
