Case Studies

Selected projects across homes, studios and offices. The room, the problem, what we did and how it turned out.

Private Listening Room

A dedicated music room in a converted attic where the bass boomed so badly that the owner had stopped using it. Earlier attempts with thin foam had made the room sound dull without fixing the real problem.

We removed the foam, placed bass-control columns in all four corners, added made-to-order panels behind the speakers and finished the rear wall with sculpted wood diffuser panels.

  • The boomy bass was brought firmly under control.
  • The room went from unusable to the owner’s favourite space in the house.
  • All treatment reads as furniture, not equipment.

Two-Room Recording Studio

A new-build recording facility inside an existing warehouse, with a live room and a control room side by side. The challenge was keeping loud instruments from leaking into the control room through the structure.

We specified floating floor platforms under the recording area, wood-slat panels in the live room to keep it lively, and a full treatment package in the control room.

  • Drums in the live room no longer disturb work next door.
  • The live room keeps a pleasant, natural liveliness.
  • Nine weeks from first visit to handover.

Broadcast Office Retrofit

A busy broadcast floor that could not shut down during the work. Voices sounded harsh and hard to follow on remote calls, and the ceiling was full of cabling that could not be touched.

We fitted felt wall tiles across two walls and hung ceiling panels clear of the existing services, installing everything across four consecutive night shifts.

  • Speech on calls became noticeably clearer.
  • Nothing above the ceiling had to be moved.
  • Zero downtime for the client.

Meeting Room Programme

A rolling upgrade across eleven meeting rooms for one organisation, standardised on two of our products so that ordering and installation could be repeated without a new survey each time. Average turnaround was one working day per room.
