Absorption

Aerocloud C60 Ceiling Absorber

A suspended ceiling cloud that works far harder than a flat panel.

A 120 mm suspended cloud hung on brass aircraft cable. The air volume behind it does as much work as the fill itself, which is why it reaches down to 100 Hz.

Why a cloud instead of a flat ceiling panel

Hanging a panel below the ceiling, rather than fixing it flat against it, roughly doubles what the same panel can do. The air gap lets it catch sound a flush-mounted panel simply misses.

Construction

  • Aluminium frame with hardwood edge banding.
  • Four-point suspension on slim cables with locking adjusters.
  • Fine level adjustment at each corner.
  • Optional built-in cable channel for lighting runs.

Layout

Above a desk or mixing position, one cloud centred overhead covers the ceiling reflection for both speakers. In larger rooms, hanging clouds at two different heights keeps the ceiling looking layered and the sound even.
