Applications

Water treatment looks different in every industry. The equipment shares the same building blocks — filtration, membranes and polishing — but the requirement that actually drives the design changes from site to site. Our first job on any project is to work out which requirement matters most before anything is drawn.

Power generation

Power stations need very pure water to protect boilers and turbines. Even small amounts of the wrong impurity can build up as deposits on hot surfaces, so the water is purified in several stages and polished before use. We design these systems around the site’s own water source and its seasonal changes, not around a textbook average.

Microelectronics and pharmaceutical

Both industries need exceptionally clean water, but for different reasons. Electronics manufacturing chases the lowest possible level of impurities. Pharmaceutical manufacturing chases a hygienic, fully documented system that can prove it meets its specification day after day. The same equipment family serves both, built and documented to suit each case.

Municipal supply and coastal desalination

Turning seawater into drinking water is above all an energy question. Modern plants recover the energy contained in the concentrate stream and reuse it, roughly halving power consumption compared with older designs. Over the life of a plant, that saving is usually worth more than the plant cost to build.

Water reuse and zero liquid discharge

Treated wastewater can be brought back to process quality and used again, and high-recovery designs can shrink the volume that finally leaves the site to a small fraction of the original flow. Whether that investment pays back depends mostly on what discharging wastewater costs at your location — which is why we always start from the site economics, not from the technology.

Food, beverage and process industry

General process duties are usually about consistency rather than absolute purity. A bottling line does not need laboratory-grade water — it needs the same water every day, whatever the source is doing seasonally. We match the treatment to the product: often a gentle softening and filtration scheme is the right answer, at a fraction of the running cost of a full purification train.
