FAQ
Is the gap in the joint a defect?
No. It is the draw, and it is designed in. Every dry-fitted joint stands about 4.5 mm open at the shoulder until the peg is driven. See Assembly.
Do I need any tools?
A mallet, and one comes in the box. Nothing else — no screwdriver, no hex key, no drill.
Can I take it apart and move it?
Yes, that is the point. Punch the pegs out and the piece is flat again. Pegs can be reused a few times; spares are inexpensive.
Will the joints loosen over time?
Drawbored joints tighten slightly as the peg and the timber settle together, then stay where they are. There is no fastener to re-torque, which is the usual reason furniture gets a wobble.
What is the timber?
Quartersawn American white oak throughout, including the pegs. Finished with hardwax oil and nothing else — no stain, no lacquer.
How do I look after it?
Wipe with a damp cloth. Re-oil the top surfaces when water stops beading, usually once a year on a table and much less often on a chair.
Do you ship outside the United States?
