Handmade Clay Teapot — 140 ml

Description

This clay fires dense and takes a burnish rather than a glaze, so it will not absorb the character of one tea and hand it to the next. Over years the surface develops a low, soft shine from use alone.

Every pot is thrown and finished by hand in a small studio, and each one is slightly different. Capacity is a nominal 140 ml to the rim, around 110 ml in practice.

Living with it

Rinse with hot water, never soap. Dry it upside down with the lid off. That is the entire maintenance routine.
