The Halden is the least complicated bicycle we make, and for a lot of riders it is the right one. A single 46×18 gear covers a flat commute comfortably, spinning easily from a standstill at lights and holding a relaxed cadence at speed.
Deliberately plain
There are no shifters, no cables running to the rear of the frame and no derailleur hanging low enough to bend. What remains is a taut chromoly frame, a leather saddle and two wheels that stay true.
A flip-flop hub
The rear hub is threaded on both sides — freewheel on one, fixed on the other. Turn the wheel around if you ever want to try riding fixed, and turn it back the day you decide you would rather coast.
