Lumenscope Optics designs, assembles and tests imaging optics for industrial machine vision. The company was founded by a group of optical engineers who believed a datasheet should describe the lens you actually receive, and it has stayed engineer-owned ever since.
What we do
We build the lenses, lighting and filters that let factory cameras inspect and measure products: measurement lenses for precise gauging, line scan optics for continuous materials, and general-purpose lenses for everyday inspection. Optical design, mechanical design and final testing all happen in the same building.
The standard we hold
Every model in the catalogue carries published performance figures, and those figures are what each unit is tested against on our own benches before it ships. When a number on our datasheet looks conservative, it is because we would rather you were pleasantly surprised than disappointed.
How we work with customers
Most of our volume goes to companies that build inspection machines. We are used to being handed a part, a speed and a tolerance, and being asked what optic will do the job. We will also tell you when the answer is none of ours — a lens that cannot do the job is worse than no quote at all.
