Lumenscope Optics

Applications

Where Lumenscope optics are measuring, reading and inspecting today.

Semiconductor manufacturing

Checking that very small electronic components are placed and connected accurately. These tasks need a lens that keeps its measurement scale constant even when the part height varies slightly — exactly what our measurement lenses provide, paired with a backlight.

Pharmaceutical packaging

Checking caps, seals and printed codes on products moving at high speed. Short exposure times matter more than anything else here, so a bright general-purpose lens with pulsed lighting is usually the right choice.

Battery manufacturing

Inspecting coating edges, tabs and welds on wide, fast-moving material. Line scan optics with bar lighting are the natural architecture for this kind of continuous inspection.

Circuit board inspection

Checking solder joints and component placement on dense boards. This calls for high resolution over a modest field of view with good depth of field, under even ring lighting.

Precision dimensional gauging

Non-contact measurement of turned, ground and stamped parts, often replacing manual gauges on the shop floor. With a measurement lens and a backlight, highly repeatable results are achievable, provided the fixture holds the part steady.

UV and infrared inspection

Some features only show up outside visible light: adhesives glow under UV, and some plastics are transparent in infrared. Both need optics designed for those wavelengths — an ordinary lens simply will not focus there.
