Most rooms fail because three colours are all trying to do the same job. Colour needs a hierarchy: one thing leads, one supports, one interrupts, and the walls stay out of the argument.
The board below runs the same rules our studio uses on the phone. It is not taste and it is not a mood board — it is hue arithmetic against the sixteen cloths we actually weave, and it will tell you when your chosen colour is too quiet to lead.
