Description
The smallest box we build, and the one people are most often surprised by. A short 24.9 inch scale drops total string tension to around 148 pounds with a light set, so it plays soft under the fingers, and the fan bracing pushes the midrange forward instead of chasing bass the body cannot produce anyway.
French-polished shellac rather than lacquer: thinner, more repairable, and it lets a small top move. This is a writing and recording instrument. It will not keep up with a banjo and it is not trying to.
