Tall vertical stainless steel rack coolant manifold with a column of evenly spaced blind-mate quick disconnect ports

The manifold is where a liquid-cooled rack is either serviceable or it is not. Every design decision in the V42 follows from one requirement: a technician should be able to remove a server without thinking about the loop.

No threaded joints in the cabinet

All twenty-four ports on each rail are orbital welded to the tube. There is no thread, no ferrule and no sealant inside the rack, because every one of those is a slow leak with a schedule. The only mechanical seals in the cabinet are the quick disconnects themselves, which are designed to be broken and remade.

Flow balance across the height

A naive manifold starves its far ports. Internal geometry in the V42 holds delivered flow within 4 % from the first port to the twenty-fourth, so the server at the top of the rack runs at the same die temperature as the one at the bottom.

Zero U consumed

Both rails mount in the rear channel of a standard 600 mm cabinet. You do not give up a single rack unit of saleable space to the fluid network, which in a colocation context is the difference between a viable product and an academic one.

Isolating one rack

Each rail terminates in an isolation valve and a drain point. A single rack can be taken off the loop, drained and worked on while the row beside it keeps running.

Module 05 — Flow envelope

Delta-T against required flow

This unit rejects 200 kW. Widening the temperature difference across the loop cuts the volume of water you have to move — and pump power falls with roughly the cube of flow.
