Bench Notes

Cut along the back, stitched at the folds

Our leather straps are clicked from the strongest run of the hide, saddle-stitched with waxed thread where straps actually fail, and edge-burnished twice. A strap that arrives here creased or short a stitch never ships - it goes back on the bench.

Fitted daily, reviewed honestly

The saddle tan strap made my ten-year-old field watch look like a different piece. Fit the first time, and the stitching is straighter than the strap it replaced at three times the price.

I sent a photo of my watch with a ruler across it and got the width plus two suggestions the same afternoon. The NATO they recommended has not left the watch since.

Bought the tool kit and the buckle assortment to rescue a drawer of old straps. Two evenings later every watch in the house has a strap that fits. Dangerous shop.

How it works

Measure once, fit in minutes

Four steps between browsing and wearing something new.

  1. Measure your lugs

A ruler across the lug gap - 18, 20 or 22 mm covers most watches.

  2. Choose the strap

Every listing states width, length and material in plain words.

  3. Fit it in minutes

Quick-release bars or the fork tool - no watchmaker required.

  4. Wear it, care for it

Balm for leather, a rinse for fabric, a soft cloth for metal.

One tool kit, then any strap you like

One tool kit, then any strap you like

A fork tool and a tin of spring bars turn strap changes from a watchmaker errand into a two-minute habit. Measure your lug width once, keep the kit in the drawer, and every strap on this site becomes a five-minute decision.
