Clearflow RO-SW 2000 membrane treatment train

Clearflow RO-SW 2000

Full seawater desalination hall — six parallel banks with isobaric energy recovery.

200m³/hPermeate capacity
99.78%Nominal rejection
45%System recovery
2.58kWh/m³Specific energy
396pcsMembrane elements
45,000mg/LMax feed TDS

Our largest standard configuration. Six parallel banks share a common CIP, a common permeate header and a redundant control system, so any one bank can be isolated without dropping the plant below half output.

What it is designed to do

The Clearflow RO-SW 2000 is a standard Clearflow configuration rated at 200 m³/h of permeate at 45 % system recovery, which is 4,800 m³ over a continuous day. The published envelope assumes 25 °C, a clean membrane and the design feed analysis; every project is re-projected against the water you actually have before a price is issued.

  • Feed envelope — up to 45,000 mg/L TDS, SDI15 below 4, turbidity below 0.2 NTU
  • Membrane hardware — 396 elements across 66 vessels, 14,731 m² of active area
  • Energy — 2.58 kWh/m³ of product at design conditions, 640 kW installed motor load
  • Delivery — 34.0 × 12.5 × 6.0 m process hall, 92,000 kg dry, 34–40 weeks ex works

How the array is put together

The array is arranged as 6 parallel banks, each 11 vessels × 6 elements, single stage. Element type is SW 8040 high-flow, 37.2 m² each, running on high-rejection seawater polyamide with boron-selective second pass option. Design flux is held at 13.6 LMH so the concentrate velocity through the last element stays inside the manufacturer envelope at design recovery — the single most reliable predictor of how long the membranes will last.

Trans-membrane differential2.90 barClean; change-out trigger at twice this value
Feed temperature8–40 °COutput falls roughly 3 % per °C below 25 °C
Continuous pH3.0–10.0Wider band tolerated during cleaning
Free chlorineMax 0.10 mg/LContinuous exposure limit at the membrane face

Cleaning, control and materials

Centralised four-stage CIP, 20,000 L. Control is by Redundant PLC pair with plant SCADA and historian. The wetted specification is Super duplex 2507 high-pressure piping, GRP intake headers. Pressurisation is by 6 × API 610 BB2 barrel pumps with variable frequency drives; PX isobaric pressure exchanger array, 95 % transfer efficiency.
