The PL-P880 images offset plates directly from prepress files with a thermal laser head, removing film and manual stripping from the route to press. Plates load on a drum with automatic clamping and punch registration, so what the press receives already fits the pin bar.
The optical path holds imaging geometry across the plate, which is what keeps dot shape and screen angles consistent from gripper to tail. Exposure settings store per plate type, and a calibration wedge images on request for quality audits.
It pairs with the PL-P340 processor for a complete file-to-plate line, or feeds process-free plates straight to the press bay.
