Overview

The TX-JC45 connects motor to load through two cast hubs and a replaceable elastomer spider. The spider carries torque in compression — the forgiving way — soaking up the torsional shocks of across-the-line starts and damping the vibration that would otherwise migrate into bearings and gear teeth.

Spiders come in three hardness grades: soft for maximum damping, standard for general transmission, and hard for positioning drives that need torsional stiffness. A failed spider announces itself with noise but keeps driving through the jaw contact, so the machine limps to a planned stop instead of dropping dead.

Hubs stock in pilot bore, finished bore and taper-bush styles, and swap between them without changing the mating half.
