RKL-SR90G

SR-90G Galvanised Cold-Store Racking

The SR-90 geometry supplied hot-dip galvanised, for freezers, chilled rooms, wash-down areas and outdoor canopies.

  • Coating reaches the cut edges, perforations and the inside of the box section
  • Connector tooling allows for coating thickness, so beams engage without being driven
  • Supplied as a complete galvanised run, never mixed with powder-coated uprights
  • Base fixing detail confirmed against a heated freezer slab rather than a standard sheet

Product detail

SR-90G is the same frame and beam geometry as SR-90, finished by hot-dip galvanising instead of powder coating. The reason to specify it is not appearance. It is what happens at the door line of a cold room, where warm air meets cold steel several hundred times a day and a powder-coated section starts corroding under the film at the first chip.

Where the corrosion actually starts

Not on the flat faces. It starts at the cut edge of the perforation, at the base plate weld and inside the box section, which is exactly where a powder coat is thinnest and where a fork scuff exposes bare steel. Hot-dip galvanising coats the inside of the section and the cut edges because the part is dipped, not sprayed.

Dimensional effects

Galvanising adds coating thickness to every surface, including the inside of the perforations and the connector lugs. The tooling allows for it, so a galvanised beam still engages a galvanised upright without being driven. Mixing galvanised beams with powder-coated uprights is the way to end up fighting a connector, and we do not supply it that way.

Condensation and floor fixing

In a freezer the slab is usually heated and the anchor detail differs from an ambient warehouse. The base fixing type and embedment are confirmed against the slab construction for that room rather than taken from a standard sheet.

Outdoor use

The same build is used under external canopies and in wash-down areas. Where the run is outside, base plates are set on a levelling grout bed so water drains away from the fixing.
