Description
A jumbo is a big soundboard over a narrow waist, and maple is the timber that keeps it from turning to mud. Maple reflects rather than colours: it hands back what the top gives it, so a 245 square inch soundboard stays articulate instead of blooming into one long note.
The burst is sprayed in three passes over the flame and cut back by hand. Wide-set scalloped X bracing to let the lower bout move, a 25.5 inch scale for definition, and a slightly deeper rim at the tail block than at the neck.
