Rsafele offers Transformer PD Online Condition Monitoring System.
This system is dedicated to transformer insulation condition monitoring. It employs ultra-high frequency (UHF) sensor technology to capture internal partial discharge (PD) signals in real time. Equipped with background data analysis software and an intelligent diagnosis system, it processes PD signals to evaluate transformer insulation status, classify defect types, pinpoint approximate defect locations, and output maintenance suggestions.
The system comprises sensors, demodulation/signal processing units, PD Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs), and a system server. Multiple PD IEDs can form a distributed monitoring system to enable simultaneous online monitoring of multiple transformers.
Built-in UHF sensors are installed inside power transformers to pick up UHF electromagnetic wave signals induced by internal partial discharge activities.
For in-service transformers, oil valve-mounted UHF sensors are recommended. Mounted on the oil drain valve of the transformer tank wall, they impose no disruption to regular transformer operation.
For transformers deployed in newly constructed substations, built-in UHF sensors are the preferred option. Such sensors are fitted onto the tank inner wall, and pre-reserved mounting ports on the transformer tank are mandatory for installation.
The system is suitable for online monitoring and early warning of transformer equipment in substations of all scales.
