Trial bay 2 · Fairport

Pierce at 1.4 s, then hold 0.18 mm of kerf through 25 mm plate.

Sources from 1.5 to 30 kW are aligned on granite in our own optics room. Nothing gets crated until it has cut your steel in the trial bay and the parameter tables are signed off.

Frames are stress-relieved before a rail goes on

Welded frames go to the oven, then to the boring mill, and only then do the rails get shimmed to a laser tracker. Skip the oven and the geometry walks out of tolerance during the first hot summer of two-shift running.

How we test a beam

Owners

After a year of two-shift running

The acceptance cuts ran on our own material at the agreed edge quality. Commissioning on our floor matched the protocol to the letter.
Marta K. Plant engineering manager
Job changeover is a program recall and a nozzle check. The parameter tables actually restore — that was new for us.
Daniel R. Production supervisor
When cut quality drifted at month eight, remote diagnostics pointed at the protective window before our technician opened the head. The spare was already on the shelf.
Ines B. Maintenance lead

Milestones

Sample cut, build, FAT, first shift

Four dated milestones. The FAT date is printed on the order confirmation, not negotiated later.

  1. DXF and material list

Drawings, grades, gauges and monthly quantities. One email is enough to start.

  2. Trial cut and sizing

We cut your samples, then size the source, the bed format and the loading.

  3. Build and FAT

Frame, gantry and cabinet in our cells, then acceptance cuts against the protocol.

  4. First shift on site

Levelling, gas hookup, two days of operator training, then the service line.

Every source profiled

Power stability, focus diameter and BPP recorded against the source serial.

Cut on your steel first

Trial cuts run on your grades and gauges before a source size is proposed.

Recall, not retune

Parameter tables restore per material, so a job change is a recall and a nozzle check.

Windows on the shelf

Protective windows, lenses and nozzles ship serialised, matched to your head model.

Beam profile first, acceptance cuts second

Optics room

Beam profile first, acceptance cuts second

Each source is profiled on the optical bench for power stability and focus diameter, and the numbers travel with the serial number. Then the machine cuts your parts to the agreed edge grade, witnessed on site or on camera.

Trial bay notes

Written between test cuts

Gas economics, optics handling and extraction planning, argued the way our engineers argue them.

Send a DXF and a material spec

We cut the samples on the machine we would quote you, photograph the edge, and send the parameter table with the price.
