Description
Most leather wallets are too thick because skiving is slow and nobody sees it. We skive every internal fold by hand on a marble slab with a French edger, which is the reason this wallet shuts properly when empty and still shuts properly with eight cards in it.
Construction
Card slots are stitched in a single pass across the stack so there is no stepped ridge under your thumb. The note compartment is one folded panel with no bottom seam. Edges are sanded through four grits, dyed, and burnished with beeswax and a wooden slicker until they take a shine.
Break-in
Give it a fortnight of daily use. The card slots will loosen exactly as much as they need to and then stop. If a slot ever goes slack, send it in — we restitch that panel at the cost of the thread.
