Machined at Ironvale since 1994

At year twelve a cylinder should need a seal kit, not a purchase order.

We hone our own barrels and machine our own manifolds at Ironvale, so a rebuild question years later still reaches the people who cut the steel. Tell us the duty cycle and the space you have to fit inside, and an engineer answers with a specification.

Pressure hold logged on every cylinder
32–125 mm
Bore sizes honed in our own hall
1,900 kits
Seal sets on the shelf, matched by serial

Sized to your duty cycle

We ask for pressures, flows and cycle times before anyone picks a frame size.

Held on the gauge

Test pressure goes on, an inspector watches the needle, and the reading is written down.

A stopped line jumps the queue

We diagnose by phone and photo first, then send an exchange unit where stock allows.

Openable years later

Seal kits and wear parts stay catalogued against the serial number we shipped.

The honing machines stand forty metres from the assembly bench

Barrels are honed, caps and manifolds machined, and units built up in the same building, with gauge checks between operations. Nothing waits in a subcontractor queue, and nothing can be blamed on one either.

How we test

Order route

The four stops between your email and a crated unit

The same engineer follows the job from the first email to the crate.

  1. Send the duty sheet

Pressure, flow, cycle time and the space you have to fit into.

  2. An engineer reviews it

Frame sizes, seal compounds and options get picked, then quoted with the specification attached.

  3. Built and held on test

Machined and assembled here, function-cycled, then pressure-held against the written protocol.

  4. Crated with its test record

Commissioning help on site, and seal kits on the shelf for the years afterwards.

Follow-up calls

Six months after commissioning

The cylinders arrived with test records in the crate. Our auditor asked one question, we handed over one folder, done.
Marta K. Plant maintenance manager
A pump went down on a Friday shift. The exchange unit was on a pallet the same day and the machine ran Monday morning.
Dean W. Production engineer
Their seal kits come labelled in assembly order with torque values on the liner. Our workshop rebuilds cylinders without a specialist now.
Tomas R. Workshop supervisor
Nothing gets crated until the gauge stops moving

Test bay

Nothing gets crated until the gauge stops moving

A new design earns its rating through proof-pressure and impulse cycling. After that every single unit holds its test pressure while an inspector watches the needle, and the signed record follows the serial number for as long as the unit works.

What we end up explaining on the phone

Oil cleanliness, hose walk-rounds and pressure settings, written down so we can send a link instead.

Most quotes start from three numbers: pressure, flow and cycle time.

Send those and the space you have to fit into, and an engineer replies with a specification and a price within one business day.
