Open-Pit & Quarry Survey

A pit is the hardest environment an aerial survey faces. High walls block much of the sky, and the satellite positioning that works perfectly on the crest degrades quickly further down.

For that reason we position these flights by post-processing rather than in real time: the flight track is recalculated after landing, recovering data that a live radio link would simply have dropped, and giving us a quality figure we can inspect rather than a status light we have to trust.

Working around production

Flights are planned around shift changes and the blast schedule. Bench edges are traced from the three-dimensional point cloud rather than off a flat photo, because on a working bench that difference matters.
